Common questions

  • Are private lessons available?

Private swimming lessons are available, however we recommend trying our group lessons first for a well-rounded learning experience.

For more information on private swimming lessons please contact us.

  • How long does it take for adults to learn how to swim?

The time it takes for an adult to learn to swim can vary widely depending on individual factors such as prior experience, comfort level in the water, physical fitness, and the consistency of practise.

Everyone learns at a different pace – and that’s okay! Our swim instructors will be there to support you every step of the way.

  • Is it difficult for adults to learn how to swim?

If you’re learning to swim as an adult for the first time or have limited experience, it’s completely normal to find lessons a little difficult at first.

Many adults feel fear or anxiety, or struggle with coordination, balance and buoyancy. While this can make lessons challenging for some, learning to swim is certainly achievable with patience, practise and the right instruction.

Our swim instructors are there to help you along, easing any nerves and providing the guidance you need to improve.

  • Why are adult swimming lessons important?

Swimming lessons aren’t just for kids – they’re important for adults too.

Royal Life Saving reported that from 2023 to 2024, 40% of Australian drowning deaths were those over the age of 55 years, while 21% were aged 35 to 49. Drowning rates also increased among young adult populations due to risk taking behaviours and a lack of water safety and survival skills.

That’s why we offer adult swimming lessons, so that everyone can have easy access to learn to swim programs. Our adult swim classes will not only help you become a better swimmer, but can help you stay safer in and around water by teaching vital water safety skills.
