How we teach

We want every child to become the best swimmer they can be.

Our teaching style focuses on ensuring children feel safe and supported in the water. All of our teachers follow the same lesson plan to ensure consistency.

We also teach in small class sizes, creating a nurturing environment where every child receives the close attention and guidance they need to develop their skills.

To support your child during lessons, our teachers may use ‘hands-on corrections’. This is where they use their hands to guide your child into the correct swimming position and keep them safe.

Our aim is to help your child grow more confident and capable in the water, one lesson at a time.

Survival swimming skills

We incorporate survival swimming skills into every lesson at Kingswim – from our Foundation programs right up to our Graduate and Squad programs.

Each week, your child has the opportunity to learn and practise essential swimming skills that will help them become stronger and safer in the water.

We also have dedicated survival weeks, where children learn specific lifesaving skills appropriate to their age and ability level. This includes safe entries and exits, rescue techniques, survival strokes and more.

By focusing on survival swimming skills, our lessons help kids grow into confident swimmers who know how to be safer in and around water.

Common questions

  • Can we see what your lessons are like before we enrol?

Absolutely, we offer a free introductory lesson! It’s a great way to find out more about us, and for us to get to know your child. After the free introductory lesson, one of our friendly supervisors will talk to you about which level is best suited to your child’s abilities. They’ll also be able to answer any other questions you may have about our program before you confirm your booking.

  • What is the cost of lessons?

So that we can give you our current prices, it’s always best to give us a call.

  • Why choose Kingswim?

Kingswim makes learning to swim simpler for the whole family, developing a swimming program where everything is considered both in and out of the pool. We’re also committed to helping kids learn important water safety knowledge both in and outside of lessons.

  • Is your program accredited?

We have a Swim Australia registered program, and all of our teachers hold nationally recognised qualifications.

  • Do I need to sign up for a contract?

There are no fixed contracts at Kingswim, so you can cancel at any time with one month’s notice…but we think you’ll love us and will want to stay!

  • How do I pay for lessons?

A $20 enrolment fee will secure your lesson time. From there, we offer easy direct debit payments, which are our only payment method. Payments are debited in advance from your nominated bank account or credit card on the 1st of each month from February to December, and the day before the reopening in January. This ensures your lessons are always secured and allows for a seamless, hassle-free payment experience.
